Alpaca fabric has become very popular lately as a luxury textile due to its softness and warmth. And indeed, to be three to five times as warm as ordinary sheep’s wool. Many people value it more than famous cashmere fabrics. Variety of natural colors make alpaca truly unique, with 22 distinct tints available on the market. With entwining natural yarns we can get thousands of fantastic colors for any taste.

The fibre is quite strong and resistant, it has a soft texture as well. Due to its exclusive qualities making it a popular choice among fashion aficionados for winter time, many alpaca products including scarves and shawls are hand made, especially in Bolivia.

Alpaca fabric is stong yet demands delicate care. To wash it you will need a mild detergent. It is better to use lukewarm water for hand-washing, or dry-clean your alpaca. Never wring out alpaca. To push water out of your newly washed alpaca fabric put it between two towels and walk on it for a while.

You can be yet more fashionable with so-called double-scarf. You take two alpaca scarves of contrasting or complementary colors and entwine them by laying them side by side and crossing one over the other until they are entwined all the way down.

If both your scarves have fringes, they can become cluttered when you clip or tie them, in this case you would want to have scarves with clean edges. If you decide to keep your ends loose, select scarves with frindges of the same length.

If you wear this double scarf with your coat, entwine them right before putting on, then tuck the ends into the coat’s front. Some people prefer to tie one or both ends into knots. You could also adorn the ends with nice hair clips.

You can also braid more than two scarves. To keep your composition as it was planned to be, tie or clip the ends of alpaca scarves.

Alpaca fleece is a natural fiber gathered from alpaca and can be of different weight depending on the style of spinning. It is naturally water-repellent and is fire resistant. Alpaca is used in some modern fashion collections including those of Armani.
